SMITHFIELD, R.I.-- Alex Francis scored 23 points and grabbed 9 rebounds to help Bryant declare its first gain of the period in a 76-64 success over New Hampshire on Saturday. Dyami Starks doned with 17 points and Frankie Dobbs included 12 for the Bulldogs (1-2), who never ever tracked in the contest. Bryant scored the game's first 12 points, highlighted by Starks' 3-pointer and three-point play. The Bulldogs had their lead trimmed to 2 points when New Hampshire forward Ferg Myrick made a 3-pointer with 5:50 left in the first half. But the Wildcats (2-1) pulled no closer as Bryant pushed its lead to 43-34 by halftime. The Bulldogs kept a double-digit lead for much of the second half, pulling ahead by as much as 16 points. Myrick and Chris Pelcher each led New Hampshire with 12 points. Jordan Bronner had 11 points and Chandler Rhoads included 10.
